Coastal Heritage Community Showcase

We’d like to invite you to join us to explore further Rakiura’s coastal heritage past, present, and future!

If you made an ‘ARTefact’ that became part of the community midden artwork during the September workshop, we invite you to join us in a social mapping activity at 3:00 geolocating your prints on a map of Stewart Island, after which you are welcome to take home your prints.

Students from Half Moon Bay School will be sharing their work on a storymap of Stewart Island’s coastal heritage during the showcase as well as our summary of ideas from the September printmaking workshop, and some initial sea level rise mapping for the town of Oban.

We would love for you to join us in continuing to engage with Stewart Island’s coastal heritage. Families are welcome!
