Protecting Pukunui on Rakiura – Community Hui in Oban

The critically endangered Southern New Zealand dotterel/pukunui is at serious risk,
with only 101 birds left. The Department of Conservation (DOC), supported by Zero
Invasive Predators (ZIP), is planning a predator control operation this winter to help
protect pukunui breeding grounds.
